Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shchenko is an Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay fighter. She currently competes in the UFC Flyweight division. She is also the older sister of former UFC Flyweight champion and the fellow UFC competitor Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko's combat sport career started out in the form of an Muay Thai athlete. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title after which she defeated Suzane Mller with a majority vote. Antonina then won a Silver Medal in 2007 and a Bronze Medal in 2008, and a gold medal in the year 2011, and the IFMA Amateure 2016 Muay Tha World Champion. Antonia's professional debut came in 2003. In 2012, she took home the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship, in 2016, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016 the WMC World Championships. Antonina took on Isa Tidblad Kskikangas last time at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by unanimous decision. Antonina Schevchenko kicked off her professional MMA professional career back in the year 2002 with an impressive win against Anara Baanova at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan. She took the win via a second round TKO followed by 2 additional fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships to achieve a record of 3-0. Shevchenko took a break from MMA so that she could focus on the sport of kickboxing. She made her return against Anissa Haddaoui at Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko was able to defeat Anissa with a unanimous verdict and defeated Valerie Domergue on Phoenix FC 4 in the year 2017. In 2018, she resigned from the competition and began competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko fought Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina utilized her striking skills in order to TKO Nievera in the clinch via knees to the body. Antonina Shevchenko was given the UFC contract following this win. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hitters Finale against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi via split decision fight after winning the first bout by a unanimous decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from her loss and beat Lucie Pudddilova on UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submissions in the 2nd round. The fight was awarded Antonina the prize of Fight of The Night. Shevchenko lost 1-2 during her subsequent three bouts, defeating Ariane Lipski before falling to Katlyn Chookagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina was recently knocked out by KO in the second round to Casey O'Neill, at UFC Fight Night Santos Vs. Walker.
